The Hacker’s Diet – November 2011

So, when my weight hit 222 pounds I had something of an epiphany and decided on a diet and exercise regimen.  I chose The Hacker’s Diet, which I’d actually tried 2 years ago.  Nothing wrong with the diet, I just wasn’t committed enough to stick to any kind of reduction.

As diets go, Hacker’s couldn’t be simpler.  No food points, no food restrictions, just pure calorie reduction, tracking and graphing.  It includes both Excel spreadsheets and an online tool to help.

First month results: Lost 15.4 pounds. I had one relapse while on vacation. It’s difficult to eat at all your favourite restaurants and still lose weight!  But no permanent harm done: just a setback.

According to my plan’s guidewire, I was supposed to be 214 by Christmas, but I’m shedding much faster than that (nearly daily exercise of 30-60 minutes helps there).

See you next month.
