These are my 4-year-old’s favourite socks — black, red and orange, emblazoned with flaming skulls.
If there is a drawer full of anything, they are guaranteed to be the first ones selected for that day’s outfit.
Some of you may be thinking, “Cool!” or “Weird!” or “Boys will be boys”, except my 4-year-old isn’t a boy.
She loves pretty dresses, hats, shoes and purses… all the things you’d typically expect from a little girl. But she also loves her skull socks. And my black leather ball cap. No matter how many times I adjust it for my head and hang it up on the wall, inevitably it will end up being cinched down to minimum circumference and left in the minivan next to her booster seat.
You might also think it’s my own fault for buying these for her, but you’d be wrong again. They were a gift from her mother.
Did I mention that she also bought our 21-month-old a Harley-Davidson jacket?
I’m amused, but completely innocent here. I typically wear polo shirts and slacks, maybe tees and jeans when I’m dressed down… and I’ve never owned a Harley tee, let alone a motorcycle.
For the record, I’m fine with it. My girls can dress however they’d like. This just gives me a chuckle, and I’m sharing it with you.
